Anger Management Program |
|
Anger is a normal and natural human emotion. It is part of our instinctive survival mechanism which helps us respond to a perceived threat in our environment. When anger leads to destructive behaviors or ongoing conflict, however, it becomes counterproductive and should be addressed. Anger and conflict can negatively affect one individual, a particular relationship, or an entire working environment. In such situations, anger or conflict management training may be beneficial. The Anger Management Programs at BHC of Texarkana involve 1 1/2 hour weekly sessions which last for 6 weeks. Participants are provided with education on the emotional and physiological basis of anger and techniques to more effectively manage it. Prior to admission to the Anger Management Program, individuals must undergo an individual diagnostic assessment at BHC of Texarkana to determine appropriateness for the program. Domestic violence perpetrators will not be admitted to this program. Any individual with an identified domestic violence issue will be referred to Domestic Violence Prevention for treatment. Participants will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the Anger Management Program. |
