Living Hope Psychiatric Hospital

As the only general inpatient psychiatric hospital in Texarkana, Living Hope is available 24 hours for emergency assessments and admissions. Living Hope requires insurance or cash payment. There is no known website. Call (870) 774-HOPE.

         In An Emergency or Crisis

If you are feeling suicidal, homicidal, or increasingly afraid/confused, BHC of Texarkana is NOT the place you should start. You need immediate assessment and assistance, and we are not equipped to handle those emergency situations for new clients. Therefore, please contact one of the agencies listed below for crisis intervention. After you are stabilized, we will be happy to assume your outpatient care.

Northeast Texas Mental Health and Mental Retardation

Provides 24 hour crisis intervention in Bowie, Cass, and Red River Counties. Assists with psychiatric hospitalization with no insurance coverage or ability to pay. Also assists in obtaining court-ordered commitments in Bowie, Cass, and Red River Counties. Call (903) 831-7535.

 

Brentwood Psychiatric Hospital

Is a general inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Shreveport, Louisiana. Provides 24 hour crisis intervention and admissions. Brentwood requires insurance or cash payment. Call (877) 678-7500.

Wadley Regional Medical Center

WRMC is an acute medical-surgical hospital located in Texarkana, Texas. They have a fully equipped emergency room available to respond to crises. They also have an inpatient geriatric psychiatric unit within their hospital that is available to provide emergency assessments/admissions 24 hours. Call (903) 798-8000.

CHRISTUS St. Michael Medical Center

St. Michael Medical Center is an acute medical-surgical hospital located in Texarkana, Texas. They have a fully equipped emergency room available to respond to crises. Call (903) 614-1000.

Your Local Emergency Number

All local emergency numbers, such as 911, are trained and equipped to handle crisis situations. If you are unable to make other arrangements, or if the situation warrants an immediate response, contact your local emergency number, fire, or police.
