Professional Staff

Janet Potts, MSW, LCSW, is one of the new professional additions to BHC of Texarkana. She is a full-time social worker who provides individual, group, family, and couples psychotherapy, forensic, and medical social work services to area home health, hospice, and acute medical/surgical centers in the greater Texarkana area. Janet is also the Supervisor over the Social Work Department.

Janet graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas, in 1992. She received her Bachelor degree in Social Work from South Texas State University.

Janet’s family was originally from the Prescott, Arkansas area. She lived in Texarkana as a child for several years and then returned to the area approximately ten years ago.

During her career as a social worker, Janet has worked in several settings including school systems, hospitals, and outpatient dialysis clinics. Before becoming a team member at BHC of Texarkana, Janet worked at an inpatient psychiatric hospital for several years.

Janet enjoys working with individuals, couples, groups, and adolescents. She is also an active part of the Texarkana community and enjoys working with volunteer organizations to help others.

I truly feel that counseling is a growth experience that can add new and positive dimensions to any person’s life.”

Janet is married to Arnold and has one son.
