This is a plaque in our office to remind us what is really important in this life. Sounds simple, doesn’t it?

We realize that it’s not simple… “living well” often requires hard work. We do believe, however, that everyone can improve his or her life and self with the help of a caring and knowledgeable professional. BHC of Texarkana staff are here to assist you in the important work of Life.

For too long, individuals desiring emotional growth or healing have had few treatment choices which did not identify them as “patients” needing to be “cured.”

At BHC of Texarkana, we believe that each individual and his or her needs are unique and complex, and some may require intensive intervention and perhaps medication to achieve a sense of wellness. We do not, however, believe that these individuals are “sick”. There are no “patients” at BHC of Texarkana- only “clients”- and we view any successful treatment as simply placing the client back on a positive path for growth.

While this choice of words may seem unimportant to some, it underscores and maintains our commitment to provide caring, professional, and comprehensive services that treat the “whole” person rather than a list of symptoms. To that end, we have attempted to assemble a group of practitioners and approaches that are geared to address all facets of an individual’s emotional and cognitive self without sacrificing the ability to accurately diagnose and treat any disorder. While a “medical model” is used by our professionals to determine symptoms and likely causes, we strive to personalize our services and to make the client feel like an active participant in the process from beginning to end. Each staff member is committed to providing the most professional, caring, and effective services in the Ark-la-Tex. Come see how we’re doing...
